The escalation of conflict in Sudan in April 2023 has triggered a severe humanitarian crisis, leaving millions displaced and in dire need. Ground Truth Solutions, with support from the H2H Network and in partnership with local partners, is responding to this crisis by empowering communities and informing humanitarian action through targeted research.

We are conducting in-depth quantitative research to understand the priorities, perceptions, and capacities of those directly affected by the conflict. The collected data will be analysed, shared and discussed with both local communities and humanitarian actors.

In this project we aim to:

  • Bridge information gaps and provide real-time insight to enhance the coordination and effectiveness of the humanitarian response

  • Empower local communities to advocate for themselves and participate in shaping the humanitarian response.

  • Influence humanitarian action and encourage humanitarian actors to adopt a more community-centric approach, leveraging existing capacities and fostering mutual support

  • Advocate for greater support by using the data to demonstrate the scale of the crisis, highlighting the reach of humanitarian efforts, and mobilising increase support from the international community.
