Strengthening accountability to crisis-affected people in Central African Republic

Global claims of improved accountability in humanitarian action are not often supported by evidence. That’s why we work with humanitarian actors in CAR who are aiming to improve accountability to affected populations, by tracking and sharing the views of people receiving aid.

To measure implementation of the Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) from the recipients’ perspective the Humanitarian Country Team  recently included eight perception indicators in the monitoring framework. Supported by UNICEF and the International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), we track people’s perceptions over time, conducting micro-surveys in Alindao, Bangassou, Kaga Bandoro, Paoua, Bambari, Berbérati, and Bangui.

Since 2019, this has helped us to measure impact and ensure that the views of affected people are regularly considered and acted upon.
